Gamine

We have been dining at Gamine for more than a decade. Last night I took a colleague from out of town. Dinner was magnificent. Try any dish you won't be disappointed.

Super fast and courteous service. Very tasty and savory dishes... mussels and chocolate mousse were excellent !

Came here with a wedding party for the rehearsal dinner. We had the entire restaurant and they welcomed us like family and took care of everyone all night in the same way. The food and drink were delicious and the space was perfect for the roughly 30 of us there. Many more and it would have been tight. Classically inspired dishes with their own little bit of flare makes this place unique and everything we had was fantastic. A cute smaller room for a small party of about 8 or fewer is also available.

My favorite place for quality French food. Got there near five, it wasn't very busy. The service was very welcoming and sociable. Ambience reminds me of Colorado Springs area.

My neighborhood go to. The staff is cool and the food reminds me of home. Escargots, duck, mussels, the baked combozola, I’m stopponf here. Go try

If you are looking for an authentic french place in the city, this is one of the best options. Delicious food, good wine and friendly service. I recommend the mussels and the combozola cheese.

We went here as a party of 15. They accommodated our reservation with only a couple days. The service was incredible, very attentive. The food was much better than expected. I had the mussels in white wine and my husband had the lamb stew. Both were delicious. The appetizers we got were all quite good but the escargot isn't worth it.

French food and the atmosphere here is above par. great hospitality. i had a brother come into town and asked me to take him back here. this place has a good atmosphere. they have a lot of great reviews for a reason.

Excellent food. I had the Onion soup and Steak- they were both prepared to perfection, and being able to speak French with the employees makes it feel so authentic!

We had a party of 6 adults and an 11month old toddler. The food and service were exceptional, including having the toddler royally entertained by our wonderful waiter, Rombauld? (not sure about the spelling there). Every element of the food was executed perfectly, from the medium rare salmon to the vegetables done to perfection.

Splendid food and service

I've been dining here for the past decade. Lovely neighborhood spot, serving incredible French food. Prices are reasonable and every dish is delicious. Will continue to be my go to for French food even though I now live in Marin.

Really fantastic find. Amazing ingredients and passionate cook (I think owner) and staff. Taste is by rich ingredients, not by a ton of additives. Atmosphere is casual but super cozy. And yet prices and portion sizes are great. One of my faves in SF!

My favorite bistro in the city (take it from an SF native) ..but shhhh, don't blow up the spot because there aren't enough tables if everyone catches on! It's my go-to spot for dinner w my pops...and super affordable for the quality!

Quick lunch, tasty and fair price

It's just got the right feeling. I love this place and the food is delicious.

As we move from TripAdvisor to Google guides, our goal as a couple who travels often and have since our early childhoods, is to only share our absolute favorite finds. This is our "go to" place in SF to dine when visiting family and craving French food. Charming setting, try to eat outside for best people watching! Great location!

A fav place for delicious french food. Service is prompt even when they are busy. There was quick and friendly service. It has a nice interior. Atmosphere and food reminds me of Virginia Beach.

Gamine is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with great food and a great ambiance. Everything on the menu is amazing. We come here for dinner every time we're in San Francisco. We've always had great service each time we've come.

The food was delicious and really tasty. We got there very early and so the place was empty with not very appealing decor. Once the food arrived it turned out amazing and would definitely come again.

I had the pork chop - delicious. Wife had the chicken on recommendation of the staff... Amazing. Friends had the steak and they loved it, for the table we had the tartare which was really great, calamari which was decent given you can find it anywhere, lamb sausage great if you like a little heat on your dish. Overall great experience and the staff was great. We were in a back room because we had 3 like kids... Still managed to really enjoy our meal.

By far one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The escargot were perfectly cooked, the goat cheese and arugula salad had a nice balance of texture and flavor, and the pork chop with fingerling potatoes was to-die-for!!! This was the type of meal that leaves you wanting to do it all again even though you're busting at the seams.

French food and the scene at this place is great. Everyone at our table was glad to be there.

I can't believe we've lived in the Marina for 9 years, and had never been to Gamine. We came over for dinner last night, and it was incredible- from the perfectly prepared French dishes, to the wonderful service. This is easily my new favorite restaurant.

Super cozy place with French dishes that are graceful and exceedingly well prepared. The staff is friendly and very attentive. Not your typical overpriced SF joint. We skipped the pasta dishes as they seemed out of place on the appropriately limited menu. The sauteed tilapia was fresh, cooked and seasoned with a gentle hand. Try the beet salad. Brussel sprouts on the side were awesome and the tarte tatin topped off a great meal.

This is now on the list for a repeat visit! Excellent service, great value for the money, intimate atmosphere, and stellar flavors!

Really great and very nice service

Great food and great service!The French toast is the best in the city. I've had the escargot as well and I recommend 100%.The last time I visited was on a Thursday and this was the first time I ever had their scallop special. They are to die for. Perfectly seared and melts in your mouth. The flavor is brilliant. The service is always friendly. Will come here and invite you to come as well.
